Giving the print industry a much needed bold and fresh makeover.

This much needed re-brand is also a complete online business solution.

Earlier in the year a local agency had a go at it but we’re unable to coherently articulate the needs of an online print store, nor properly integrate their existing online printing solution (which in itself was quite robust and well built – just very poorly implemented).

At the time the company was struggling financially and their online print store was actually costing them money.

My task was to completely redesign and revamp the UI, while prioritizing user experience.

My primary focus was to properly organize the large variety of print products and services offered, and seamlessly integrate their existing system in the newly designed checkout experience.

Believe it or not, at the time, no other printer in the city had actually ever went the extra mile to do this, nor give this a second thought before.

As far as I know, this made CDM the first complete and  functional online print retailer in Montreal, at the time.

Only a few months later the pandemic would hit. And they would be the only print business in the city to offer a hassle free online ordering experience. Sales exploded.

Whereas before online sales would not even cover the cost for hosting the website, they now account for nearly 50% of total sales.

According to Prisme Technologies – the providers of the cloud based printing solution integrated in the site – CDM Print is currently (2023) the largest online print retailer in the Greater Montreal area.

In the same year, following this rebrand CDM also acquired  their first blue chip client – Imperial Tobacco, and are currently responsible for their printing needs  across all of Canada.
